Alto Ingredients, Inc. A Team Built For Near-Site CCS

Vault 44.01 is a company named for the industry it serves—more specifically, the greenhouse gas molecule it seeks to capture and lock away. 44.01 represents the molecular mass of carbon dioxide, and it may soon be a number, or at least a name, that’s well known across all carbon-emitting industries. Vault may not be unique in its mission to capture and sequester industrial carbon, but the lane it has chosen is. The company isn’t focused on pipelines or multi-plant CO2 aggregation, but near-site CCS.

Cardinal Ethanol, LLC (Cardinal) and Vault 44.01 Ltd. (Vault) announced today that, through their affiliate companies, they have formed a joint venture to design, implement, and operate a carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and sequestration (CCS) project at Cardinal’s ethanol production facility near Union City, Indiana. The joint venture is structured with each party controlling an equal interest in a newly formed limited partnership named One Carbon Partnership, LP.

4th developer seeks to capture, store carbon from ethanol plants in US Midwest

A developer and an ethanol plant are seeking regulatory approval to store carbon dioxide underground in Randolph County, Ind., adding to the growing roster of carbon capture and storage projects in the U.S. Midwest.The two companies, under the name One Carbon Partnership LP, asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to issue a permit to drill a Class VI well used to inject CO2 into the ground.
